Chapter 12

By about thirty minutes, all the paperwork was organized. Eileen was so fast, so diligent.

"How did you…"

"Just stayed on task I guess," She interrupted me. I shut my mouth and walked over to the piles. Each of the piles were to my knees. My…short…knees. But still, that's a lot of papers.

"Are you sure this is all right?"

"I'm positive." I looked up at the clock. Benson usually gives me around two to three hours to finish stuff like this, so we had lots of free time on our hands.

"So…want to go play some video games?" Eileen grinned and we sprinted to the sofa in the living room. I pulled out all the games we had.

"Okay, so we have Hoop Jams 5000, Dig Champs, and Karate Choppers."

"Karate Choppers!" I pushed the cartridge into the console and grabbed my favorite controller. I handed the other one to Eileen as I slammed into the sofa. I chose my favorite character while Eileen chose one of the weaker ones.

"You're seriously choosing her?"

"She's awesome." We started playing and immediately, Eileen was kicking my butt. She was making special combo moves on me. I couldn't even dodge them! I was beaten in minutes.

"You're really good at this game."

"Thanks. I play this all the time at the arcade." We started round two and I started to put up a good fight but of course I lost again. Eileen giggled as my character fell to the ground. KO. I was getting bored. Eileen was going to beat me in every game. Eileen saw that I was getting bored.

"We don't have to play video games if you don't want to." I sighed and took the cartridge out, turning the game off. I walked back to the sofa and stretched.

"We have like two hours."

"Yeah. Just the two…of us." Eileen's voice was nearly at a whisper. I could feel myself start blushing. It was just the two of us. Everyone else was busy working. I could hear Eileen shifting in her seat. She laid her head down on my lap and looked up at me, smiling. She was blushing too. I grinned.
